A Monument in memory of HRH Grand Duke Jean

The City of Luxembourg is delighted with the selection of Jonas Ademes to design the monument dedicated to His Royal Highness Grand Duke Jean.

Paying tribute to a figure deeply rooted in Luxembourg's history and identity, the monument will be located in Pescatore Park, within the Édouard André Municipal Park. Depicting Grand Duke Jean in civilian dress and at life size, the sculpture captures the warmth, humility and approachability that characterised his reign.

The City is particularly proud to welcome this monument to one of its iconic green spaces. The monument will provide residents and visitors with a place of remembrance that is open to all and thoughtfully designed to blend harmoniously with its surroundings.

Construction of the monument will begin in the coming months, with an inauguration scheduled for mid-2027.
