Second Chance: Second-hand book sale

After the resounding success of the Second Hand Book Sales in 2024 and 2025, the Schluechthaus venue will once again be transformed into a huge book market on Sunday, 18 October 2026, from 10:00 to 17:00. Organized by the Lëtzebuerg City Bibliothèque and bookstagrammers @Betweenthelines.lu and @Idealistatheart, this pop-up book sale offers an environmentally sound way to buy books that is also kind on the pocket.

With the next Second Hand Book Sale fast approaching, the City is encouraging people to donate their pre-loved books. It's easy to take part: just come to the Schluechthaus on one of the following dates and drop off any books you're ready to part with:

• Saturday, 10 October from 13:00 to 17:00
• Sunday, 11 October from 9:00 to 13:00

In exchange for your pre-loved books, you will be given a voucher worth up to €5 depending on the number of books donated. You can then use this voucher to buy books at the Second Hand Book Sale on Sunday, 18 October 2026.

This year, all proceeds from the sales will go to L'Etape21, helping young people aged 18 to 27 who are experiencing housing insecurity following family breakdown and are at risk of homelessness.
