On 18 June 2026, Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess were welcomed to Parc Amélie by the City's College of the Mayor and Aldermen and by the Board of Directors of Patrimoine Roses Luxembourg ASBL, for the christening of a rose named in honour of the Grand Ducal couple.

During this solemn occasion, Lydie Polfer, Mayor of the City, Nicole Trossen, President of Patrimoine Roses Luxembourg, and Ann Velle-Boudolff, the rose breeder who created the new rose, each underlined the importance of horticultural expertise in Luxembourg and the commitment of rose growers and enthusiasts to preserving tradition and enhancing the landscape heritage.

The signing of the rose-naming certificate was followed by a reception in honour of Their Royal Highnesses.

"Grand-Duc Guillaume - Grande-Duchesse Stéphanie" rose

The "Grand-Duc Guillaume - Grande-Duchesse Stéphanie" roseis a bedding rose that embodies noble, timeless elegance. The fully double flowers open to a pure, luminous white, subtly flushed with apricot at the heart. Especially free-flowering, it produces abundant blooms continuously from May to October. Each bloom is elegantly set off by dark, dense, and exceptionally healthy foliage that accentuates the delicacy of the flowers. Its harmonious, well-proportioned form makes this rose ideal for elegant borders and formal garden settings. Robust yet refined, it symbolises the union of strength and grace, serving as a floral tribute to the Grand Ducal couple.
