Collections
The Archives house the document files of the municipal administration, as well as:
- the parish and civil registers;
- historical resources.
These documents are open to the public. The registers and documents can be viewed on site for free, in line with the provisions of the law of 17 August 2018 on archiving regarding accessibility by the public.

The City of Luxembourg's municipal archives can be consulted by appointment only:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30–12:00 and 13:30–16:00.

Prepare for your visit
You can view our online inventory and order the files you wish to consult. In this way, our archivists can make these documents available to you for your first visit. You can also request the digitisation of documents over 100 years old, which will be made available to you within 10 working days.
