In the early decades of the 15th century, the House of Valois-Burgundy took advantage of the weakening of the Luxembourg dynasty to expand its power in the region. However, Philip the Good only established a permanent presence in Luxembourg after the military conquest of the duchy in 1443. From that point on, the Burgundian princes and their successors, the Habsburgs, showed great political acumen in maintaining the unity of the duchy.
Starting from the Lëtzebuerg City Museum, this guided tour invites you to discover the political traces left by the Burgundian and Habsburg rulers throughout the city.
