Course description:

African-inspired dance, as we know it in Europe, draws inspiration from traditional dances.

The powerful movements symbolise everyday gestures.

Since its origins, it has been a genuine means of communication.

In Africa, it is said that dance is more important than speech: it allows people to express themselves, to exist, and to assert their identity.

It is danced barefoot, with feet firmly planted on the ground, using the whole body, to the rhythm and vibrations of the djembe and percussion instruments.

African dance engages every part of the body.

You’ll learn techniques, rhythmic sequences, jumps, energy and flexibility.

Thanks to the shared experience and energy of the group, you’ll enjoy a truly liberating physical and mental experience, which will bring you joy whilst relieving tension and stress.
