100% Human: an exhibition in Place de Strasbourg and at the Bierger-Center
On Wednesday, 3 June 2026, the College of the Mayor and Aldermen officially opened the exhibition entitled “100% Human”, which is currently on display at the Bierger-Center in Place Guillaume II. The exhibition was jointly curated by the non-profit association “Sourrire” and the photographer Carmen Palermo, and showcases the faces of several of the association's beneficiaries – both male and female – looking towards the future with eyes filled with hope.
Through a series of black-and-white portraits, the exhibition explores the richness and beauty of human beings, beyond mere appearances, and seeks to promote fundamental values such as tolerance, respect, and human decency. “100% Human” is a prime example of an inclusive, citizen-centric approach, and is perfectly in keeping with the City of Luxembourg’s commitment to fostering intercultural harmony.
“Sourrire” provides shelter and guidance for vulnerable people – such as refugees, and people living in poverty or experiencing hardship – and seeks to support their social integration, and help them gain access to the job market. It provides its beneficiaries with social and psychological support, as well as a chance to engage in various activities, in a caring, inclusive, discrimination-free environment that fosters independence, self-esteem, and social connections.
