To celebrate its 170th anniversary, BIL presents an exhibition by Chantal Maquet at Galerie Indépendance, on view from 3 June to 25 September 2026.

Blending scenes of work and leisure, past and present, the exhibition reveals the continuity of everyday life and offers a thoughtful, contemporary perspective on collective memory.

Commissioned for the occasion, three new works draw on the Bank’s photographic archives and explore the evolution of offices and workplaces. Through her reinterpretations, Maquet highlights the human stories behind these spaces, reminding us that history is shaped above all by the people who inhabit it.
