On Friday, 22 May 2026, the Nature Activities Unit of the City's Service Enseignement (Education Department) successfully concluded the second educational scavenger hunt on the grounds of the Maison de la Nature in Kockelscheuer. In attendance were Deputy Mayor Maurice Bauer, Alderman for Education Paul Galles, and representatives from the Centre Verdi. This event took place from 11 to 22 May and gave 432 students from 30 Cycle 4.2 classes in the City's elementary schools the opportunity to take part in an enlightening outdoor experience focused on the theme of the forest.

Speaking on behalf of the City, Alderman Paul Galles took the opportunity to thank all of the children for their active participation in the many initiatives proposed by the Service Enseignement. He also wished them every success, both in their future secondary schooling, and in their lives to come.

The last day of the event featured a musical performance organised by the Centre Verdi in collaboration with the students, lending the day a celebratory and festive air. Transport and lunch were arranged by the City's Nature Activities Unit, which ensured that the event ran smoothly and was enjoyable for all participants.

Tour programme

The tour featured 10 activity points, comprising: five main stations with a focus on teamwork, and five intermediate stations that tested students' knowledge. Students used walkie-talkies to communicate, and GPS devices to navigate their way around the trail. The main activity stations featured collaborative challenges, such as the "cooperative ring" game, in which the children had to try to keep a hoop in a steady position using ropes that they had to manipulate as a team. The intermediate stations tested the students' knowledge, most notably through a game that called on their observational skills, in which they had to explore their surroundings with binoculars to try and spot hidden animals. The 3.5 km trail took approximately 3.5 hours to complete.
