Letter of condolence to the family and loved ones of Robert Goebbels
It was with profound sadness that I learned of the passing of Robert Goebbels.
Today, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg mourns a man who was deeply committed to public life at the municipal, national, and European levels. Robert Goebbels' service on the City's Municipal Council, from 1976 to 1984 and again from 2000 to 2004, left a lasting imprint on the political life of our capital. Through his influence, values, and dedication, he helped shape the political landscape, and had a lasting impact that is still felt today.
At this time of mourning, we remember a man guided by a strong sense of public service, who worked with conviction and integrity for the development of the city and the country, and for the well-being of their residents. His values and political engagement reflected a deep and genuine commitment to the democratic and social principles he steadfastly defended.
On behalf of the City's Municipal Council, I extend my most sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Robert Goebbels, and assure them of my deepest sympathy.
Lydie Polfer Mayor of the City of Luxembourg
