On Wednesday, 7 January 2026, Luxembourg's Minister for Education, Children and Youth Claude Meisch was hosted by Luxembourg City Mayor Lydie Polfer and City of Luxembourg Alderman for Education Paul Galles for a visit to the municipal crèche in Rue d'Orval in Belair. The main purpose of the visit was to present the "10 doigts – 10 droits" (10 fingers – 10 rights) educational pilot project, which the municipal crèche had played an active role in developing.

Initiated by the Ministry in close cooperation with ten partners from the field of education and childcare, "10 doigts – 10 droits" is an innovative intervention for children aged 0 to 4 years old to teach them about their fundamental rights. The purpose of this game involving finger puppets is to offer an easily accessible and entertaining approach designed to help toddlers learn and understand what their rights are from an early age.

During the visit, the minister spoke with the City of Luxembourg and crèche officials about how children's rights had been incorporated into the children's daily activities, the lessons learned from the experience, and the teaching staff's reasons for taking part in the project. The visit also included a demonstration of the game, and a chat with the children themselves.

Thanks to the feedback of the participating crèches, the ministry was able to optimise the final version of the game. This input was used to assess the effectiveness of the game as an educational tool, improve the materials, and adapt the game to suit the needs of the crèches and the children.
