VENUE: Casino Display, 1, rue de la Loge, Luxembourg

In her first debut Ce qu’il reste, director Céline Schlesser invites us to delve into the complexity of intergenerational relationships.

.

When their old car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, Lou, an emotionally abandoned daughter, is forced into an unexpected confrontation with her distant mother, Valérie. As they come to terms with the grandmother’s recent death, the film traces the quiet tensions, unresolved grief, and subtle gestures through which family bonds are redefined.

Following the screening, Céline will join us to reflect on the film’s creation. She will present the artistic and cinematic references that informed her work, the personal and universal dimensions of the story, and the inspirations that shaped her exploration of memory, loss, and reconciliation.

The film will be screened in French with English subtitles. The post-screening conversation will take place in English.
