Angelux - Concert pour la Paix
23, av. Gaston Diederich
L-1420 LUXEMBOURG
Dates and times
- Polyphonies and sacred chants drawn from Western and Eastern liturgies, in Latin, Aramaic, Corsican, Georgian, and Greek, inviting contemplation.
- The a cappella vocal ensemble ANGELUX is a family of singers: a mother and her four daughters. .
- In these dark and anxious times marked by war and conflict, they wish to spread a little light and bear witness to Peace..
- Over the past two years, marked by pilgrimages to major sanctuaries in Fain-lès-Moutiers, the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal, Lourdes, Garabandal, Santiago de Compostela, Fatima, Medjugorje, Guadalupe, Paray-le-Monial, and Rome, the inspiration to sing for peace has taken root.
- Today, they set out—like a new pilgrimage—on a concert tour dedicated to Peace. Their journey began at Luxembourg Cathedral on Easter Day. They perform throughout France in churches, sanctuaries, basilicas, and cathedrals.
- Singer Claire Merigoux is also the founder and artistic director of the ODO Ensemble, which was in permanent residence at the Abbey of Cluny (Centre des Monuments Nationaux) from 2016 to 2022 and is now based in Luxembourg.
- It is in this environment that her daughters were immersed in early and sacred music, world music, and polyphony. They also spent several years immersed in the legendary village of musicians and artists of Pigna, Corsica, where they inherited, through oral transmission, songs from the Corsican polyphonic repertoire. Since then, they have performed as a family and have been invited to appear at the Grand Rex in Paris and to lend their voices to film productions.
- Angelux shares these sacred chants that have transcended time and space. The voices resonate and rise, touching hearts and soothing the soul, like an “enchanted” interlude carrying a strong message of unity and trust—a testimony for all that breathes hope.
- The concert is free, with voluntary contributions to help cover the costs of this project and to raise funds for new similar projects.
