Duck Race in the Grund
The 25th Duck Race, an event organised by Roundtable Luxembourg under the patronage of the City of Luxembourg, will be held on Saturday, 18 April 2026 in the Neimënster courtyard and on Rue Munster in the Grund.
The event will kick off at noon with food stands and an entertainment programme for people of all ages. At 15:00 on the dot, some 20,000 ducks will be set afloat on the Alzette for their annual race. To participate in the Duck Race, you can sponsor one or more ducks by buying a ticket for €5 per duck either in advance at www.duckrace.lu or on site on the day of the race. All the ducks are marked with a lottery-ticket number. The "sponsors" of the ducks that cross the finish line first will win one of the many prizes donated by the event's sponsors.
All proceeds from the Duck Race will be donated to charities working for the well-being of children in need: Fondation Jugend- an Drogenhëllef, Study-Help, Asha 4 Children, 2care2share, HAND an HAND fir AFRIKA, Fondation EPI, Amicale en faveur de l'inclusion. These associations will also be at the event to inform visitors about their goals and activities.
