As every year, the Easter festivities announce the arrival of the “Eemaischen” or “Éimaischen” craft market, one of the most emblematic events linked to Luxembourgish tradition, which has existed since at least 1827 and whose main theme is pottery and ceramics.

Visitors can find the famous “Péckvillercher”, small clay whistles shaped like birds, sold exclusively during the Éimaischen. Their appearance changes from year to year, making them highly sought-after collector’s items, around which collectors gather already at dawn.

Their sounds, together with folk entertainment and food stalls, shape the special atmosphere of this unique market.

The craft market, organized by the Public Space, Festivals and Markets Department of Ville de Luxembourg in partnership with Comité Alstad, will take place on Easter Monday in the historic streets of the old town, particularly around Marché-aux-Poissons, Rue du Marché-aux-Herbes, Rue de l’Eau, Rue de la Reine, Rue de la Boucherie, Rue du Rost, and Rue Sigefroi.
