Improv Workshop: intro to Longform

Dig Deep is delighted to present a Introduction to Longform Improv workshop with Dan Belkin! This workshop is the perfect opportunity to try out Longform Improv in a safe and supportive environment and stretch your creativity. 

Welcome to the world of long-form improv! In brief, long-form improv gives the players less restrictions and a lot more freedom to play. Instead of breaking up a show with lots of suggestions, long-form takes just one suggestion at the start and uses that to trigger multiple scenes that connect together and can jump through time and space. It’s exciting stuff! Is there a character you like? Keep bringing them back in new and exciting locations! Do you want to meet that character’s Grandmother that keeps being mentioned in a scene? Let’s meet that grandmother! Do you want to cut back in time to the moment Grandma was a world-champion in a hot dog eating contest - you can do that! 

Who is this workshop for: Those with some improv experience, ideally you have taken a Fundamentals course or some workshops at Dig Deep or another improv school

About Dan Belkin: Dan Belkin is a comedian and improviser who first started performing in Canada, and now tours as a stand up comedian and improviser all across Europe. He has trained with the Second City Improv program in Toronto, and has since performed with various groups in Berlin, Amsterdam, Vienna, Prague, Luxembourg and more including Luxembourg's troupe The Garage Gang. As a comedian he tours with his comedic advice show Fake Freuds in over 30 cities across Europe. He has appeared on Canada Laughs on Sirius XM, RTL TV, the American Comedy Tour in Switzerland , and multiple Fringe Festivals.

Location: Oscars Bar, Grund. The bar serves all the drinks and food your heart may desire so feel free to join before/after the workshop for food

FAQs

1) I've never done acting or any type of performance before, is that okay? Absolutely okay, all experience levels are welcome

2) Do I have to buy a ticket in advance? Booking in advance is advised so we know how many people to expect on the night. If there are not enough tickets booked in advance the event may not go ahead

3) What language is the workshop in? English

4) Do I have to be a native speaker or fluent? Definitely not
