 p 200 in the U.S. and was praised as “deadpan brilliance” by \"The New
  Yorker.” Currently at work on their ninth studio album—due autumn 202
 6—CAKE continues to explore sharp cultural commentary through inventive 
 songwriting. The band recently released a new track\, “Hold You (Respons
 ible)\,” on the \"Songs for Sex\" compilation\, an artist driven respons
 e to Project 2025 as well as support for reproductive freedom and personal
  privacy. They also premiered a new song\, “Billionaire in Space\,” du
 ring a “Live From the Freight Elevator” session with Texas Public Radi
 o in the U.S. Lead vocalist John McCrea describes it as “an observation 
 of economic imbalance and being left behind.” Both tracks will appear on
