This is th e fourth event of the Bourgmeisterin: Fireside Ch ats bi-monthly series – a cultural storytelling format supporte d by the Ministry of Family Affairs\, Solid arity\, Living Together\, and Reception of Refugees < /strong>and co-produced with ARA City Radio that runs from winter 2026 till summer 2027. The series builds on Bourgmeisterin\, a long-running cultural st orytelling project that has been exploring Luxembourg’s history\, tradit ions\, and identity for 3 years.

Why do certain recipes survive for generations?
Why does a particular smell\, flavour\, or family dish insta ntly transport us somewhere else?
And can a restaurant become more t han a place to eat – can it become a place where people find a sense of belonging?
For this edition of Bourgmeisterin: Fi reside Chats\, we'll explore food not simply as something we cons ume\, but as a living expression of memory\, identity\, culture\, and comm unity.
Joining us for the conversation is Davide Sorvillo\, one of the driving forces behind Luxembourg's contempo rary hospitality scene and the entrepreneur behind Bonne Nouvelle\, Public House\, a nd Bistro des Capucins – .three distinct dinin g concepts\, each offering its own interpretation of what food can mean in today's Luxembourg.

to becoming one of the country's most exciting young restaurateurs\, explo
ring how family memories\, cultural heritage\, and entrepreneurial ambitio
n shaped the places he has created.
🔹Along the way\, we'll discov er how each of his restaurants tells a different story – from Italian traditions carried across generations\, to contemporary interpretations of Luxembourgish cuisine\, to the everyday r ituals of sharing good food around the table.
🔹The conversation w ill then broaden to Luxembourg itself. How did Luxembourg 's traditional cuisine emerge? What can its classic dishes tell us about t he country's history? How has a nation shaped by migration continued to re invent its culinary identity? And what role do chefs and restaurants play in preserving traditions while creating new ones?
🔹Finally\, we'l l turn to one of food's greatest powers: its ability to bring peop le together. Drawing on Davide's own experience of growing up in Luxembourg and finding his place through language\, hospitality\, and comm unity\, we'll explore how restaurants become meeting places where Luxembou rgers and newcomers connect\, friendships begin\, and a shared sen se of belonging is created.
Because perhaps the most enduri ng traditions aren't simply recipes.
They're the conversations\, mem ories\, and communities that grow around the table.
