In this course\, we’ll analyse\, rehearse\, and perform scenes from a cclaimed\, well-crafted theatre plays\, bringing fully developed character s to life. You’ll explore each character's motivations\, background\, an d emotional arc in order to help us \;understand our character and bri ng your own unique interpretation to them. We will give \;particular f ocus on the intricate relationship between the two characters in the scene and \;how their interactions drive the emotional landscape and move t he narrative forward. With guidance from the teacher\, you’ll develop th e skills to portray an individual character and their connection with othe rs\, creating a layered and compelling scene. We'll also explore how to ke ep scripted performances fresh and spontaneous\, and how to avoid them bec oming stilted. Additionally\, we will work on stagecraft\, researching and decoding scripts\, \;vocal skills and \;embodying a character phy sically. The scenes we work on will be duologues from different plays.
If you're \;looking to exercise your creativity\, or sim ply want to try something new\, this course offers a safe\, supportive env ironment to explore acting. It’s a great opportunity to build confidence \, improve public speaking\, enhance creative thinking\, and connect with your voice and body\, as well as \;to meet new people and unwind after a day's work. \;No previous experienced is required.
The showca se will be on \;Thursday July 16th \;at Rocas whe n the class will perform the scripted scenes they have been working on. Ea ch student can invite friends and family\, and admission is free.

Your teac her: \;Melissa Dalton is an improviser\, actor\, voiceover ar tist\, event host and radio presenter originally from Ireland and now base d in Luxembourg. Melissa holds a BA in Drama and Theatre Studies from Trin ity College Dublin and an MA in Acting from Guildford School of Acting (GS A). Additionally\, she completed further Improv training with Hoopla and U CB with acclaimed teachers such as Lee Simpson\, Katy Schutte and \;Ch ris Mead. She now performs with Luxembourg’s improv troupe The Garage Ga ng\, of which she is a founding member. She teaches regular improv courses \, teambuilding workshops and 1-1 training through her organisation Dig De ep Improv with companies such as the Deloitte\, PwC\, \;EIB\, Universi ty of Luxembourg\, Amazon\, and ArcelorMittal. Melissa has performed widel y in Ireland and the UK in film\, commercials and theatres including The E dinburgh Fringe Festival\, Finborough Theatre\, The National Concert Hall and The Vaults. TV\, Commercial and Voiceover work includes Aldi\, Cinch\, Royal London\, Salesforce and RTE. Recent feature film credits include 'T he Winter of the Crow'\, 'The Wolf\, the Fox and the Leopard' and 'In from the Side'. \;She is the host and producer of The Melissa Dalton Show on Today Radio by RTL.
