Markets in Luxembourg City
Only professional vendors with a business permit may sell their goods at the City's markets.
Applications for operating a stall (using the appropriate form) must reach the City of Luxembourg by 15 February 2020 for the 2020/2021 season (1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021). Applications received after this date may be considered depending on the products offered for sale and according to site availability.
Food Village – Wednesday market
The Food Village will be back again at Place Guillaume II from March to August 2020 (or even October 2020).
Only professional vendors may sell their goods at the Glacismaart (monthly market at Glacis). To participate, you must be able to provide a business permit and a copy of your stall insurance.
The market is held on the third Sunday of every month from March to November – except for the month of August (due to the Schueberfouer).
To request a space at the Glacismaart, please fill in this form and send it along with the supporting documents listed therein.
Flea markets are reserved for private individuals who would like to sell items from their own household. Participation is free.
Registration opens one month in advance: you may register between the first and tenth day of the month preceding the flea market you wish to participate in. Registrations outside these dates will not be considered.
Luxembourg City residents are given priority over non-residents. Individuals may reserve only one spot each per flea market.
Participants may arrive and start setting up their stands between 6:30 and 9:00. They may use their own vehicle to transport their stuff if needed, as long as the vehicle is moved by 9:00. Access to the site for the purpose of unloading merchandise is restricted to one car.
The City will provide one table to display the items on sale and two benches per spot. (Front-side width of location: 4 meters).
Selling is permitted from 10:00 to 17:00. Participants are kindly asked to abide by this schedule, and not close or take down their stall before the end of the market.
The sale of animals, food and drink, and items prohibited by Luxembourg law is strictly forbidden.
To register for an antique market, please contact the Fédération des Antiquaires et Brocanteurs du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg (association of dealers in antiques and second-hand goods). Applicants must provide a business permit and proof of liability insurance.
If you wish to operate your fairground business at the Schueberfouer, please submit your application between 1 May and 15 September of the year preceding the year for which you wish to apply (i.e. between 1 May and 15 September 2020 for the Schueberfouer in 2021). NB: registration is now closed for the Schueberfouer in 2020. The application form for 2021 will be made available here in due time.
Applicants must fill in the appropriate application form and provide the necessary documents. Applicants who do not provide a duly signed and completed application form, along with the required documents, by 15 September will not be considered.
Separate applications must be submitted for each individual fairground business.
A complete application, with all supporting documents, must be sent by 15 September (date of receipt) with the note "Candidature Schueberfouer" (Schueberfouer application) to the address below.
Applications will be reviewed and assessed by the college of the mayor and aldermen, who will notify applicants of their decision by the end of January at the latest.
