Start of the 2021–2022 school year in the capital

On Wednesday, 15 September, to mark the start of the 2021–2022 school year, Mayor Lydie Polfer and Colette Mart (alderwoman in charge of education) paid a visit to Kirchberg elementary school on Rue de Verger, where they met children in Cycles 2–4.

In all, 5,345 children started the new year across the City's 19 elementary schools. Of those, 2,007 are enrolled in Cycle 1 (early learning and pre-school) and 3,338 in Cycles 2–4. Pupils are distributed among 374 classes staffed by 625 teachers (enseignants and chargés de cours) and 62 educators (éducateurs diplômés and éducateurs gradués).
