Politics, policy and administration

In light of the lockdown measures introduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, vulnerable people can now get help with their shopping and other necessary errands by calling 4796 4796. This helpline is available from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 16:00. If you need assistance outside these hours or during the weekend (24 hours a day), please leave a message on the answering machine, which will be checked every day.

By setting up this helpline, the City of Luxembourg aims to support those who are in need of information or cannot leave their house to do their shopping, go to the pharmacy, or run other necessary errands. To be able to this service, you must:

  • be a Luxembourg City resident;
  • be considered a vulnerable person; and
  • not have any family or friends who can help.

This helpline supplements existing services and works closely with the City of Luxembourg's scout and guide associations [FNEL (tel.: 27 400 496) and LGS (tel.: 26 94 84)].
