On Friday, 27 November 2020, Mayor Lydie Polfer; Patrick Goldschmidt, Alderman for mobility; Lex Bentner, Head of the Service Autobus (Bus Department); and Gilles Peters, the person responsible for network and timetable planning, unveiled how the city's bus network will change on Sunday, 13 December 2020.

The AVL network has been revamped for several reasons: trams will soon be running on the section of the line between Place de l'Étoile and Luxembourg Central Station; changes have been made to national public-transport services; and the redevelopment of Place de la Gare means that the bus station will be removed. The changes affect all districts and all bus lines. The Service Autobus is constantly seeking ways to maximise public-transport services, better cater to passengers' needs and further improve service quality. With this in mind, it has taken the utmost care to ensure that the city's districts are connected to at least one of the main areas of the city (Ville-Haute and the Gare district), and create a multimodal public-transport network with intra-district connections.
