Changes to certain AVL lines starting on 9 May 2021

Bus gare

Further to the December 2020 reorganisation of the AVL network to accommodate the extension of the tram service to Luxembourg Central Station, and as part of the wider efforts to optimise the bus network optimisation, the City of Luxembourg's Service Autobus (Bus Department) will be instituting some schedule changes, effective as of Sunday, 9 May 2021.

These changes concern AVL lines:

  • Line 4: All Saturday bus times will be delayed by 15 minutes between the hours of 8:00 and 20:00 in the direction of Leudelange – Dommeldange to ensure a more regular service on the route shared by lines 4 and 14 between Cessange and the city centre;
  • Line 23: During off-peak hours, line 23 will only operate between Eich – Pfaffenthal – Gare Centrale (and vice versa); service to Gasperich ("François Hogenberg") will be suspended. Passengers seeking an alternative can use lines 13 (Gasperich), 28 (Cloche d'Or, Howald) or 29 (Bonnevoie);
  • Line 28: Buses will operate more frequently on Saturday afternoons to provide a more regular service to the Cloche d'Or shopping centre. Buses in both directions will operate every 10 minutes between the hours of 14:00 and 18:30.

Increase in frequency of the tram service

On 19 April, the frequency of the tram service was increased to one tram every 4 minutes between the hours of 6:00 and 19:00.
