2022 programme

Below is an overview of upcoming events and activities as part of European Mobility Week 2022 (16-22 September). The theme this year is 'Better connections'!

'Tous solidaires sur nos itinéraires'

As in previous years, an initiative focusing on reduced mobility will be organised by Info-Handicap, the City of Luxembourg's Service Intégration et besoins spécifiques (Integration and Special Needs Department), and all actors working in the field of mobility. During Mobility Week 2022, the 'Tous solidaires sur nos itinéraires' awareness-raising campaign (roughly, All in solidarity on our routes), will be resurrected. The purpose of the campaign is to encourage people to help one another and foster mutual respect among all public transport users, including respect for people with special needs (visible disabilities and non-visible ones as well).

The awareness-raising campaign seeks to improve the inclusion of disabled users of public transport. It is aimed at all users of the network in the hope that it will open their eyes to the need to show respect and solidarity toward people with reduced mobility.

Access City Award 2022

During a virtual ceremony in December 2021, Luxembourg City was named the winner of the Access City Award 2022 in recognition of its efforts to promote a city that is accessible to everyone.

The City of Luxembourg wishes to thank everyone involved in improving the city to ensure it is 'open to everyone', and is committed to continuing to direct its efforts towards developing capital free from barriers that is accessible to all.

'Mam Vëlo, zu Fouss oder mam Bus an d’Schoul' inter-school competition

The primary objective is to encourage children in all four elementary school cycles to walk, cycle, scooter or take the bus to school, from as early an age as possible. The campaign will be organised this year by the City’s Service Enseignement (Education Department), and will run from 26 September 2022 to 21 October 2022. Thus, it does not coincide with European Mobility Week.

New Carloh stations

In 2022, considerable efforts have been made to extend or relocate the network, with priority being given to opening four new stations in the largest and most populous districts.
