via text message

How it works

Using a Luxembourg mobile phone, text "A" to 64222. If your text is read correctly by the system, confirmation of your ticket purchase will be sent to your phone.

The ticket price is charged to your phone bill. You do not need to register in order to use the system.

Please note that the SMS-4-Ticket (mobile ticket) service can only be used with a subscription or a prepaid card from a Luxembourg telephone operator.

Ticket inspection

If asked by the driver or a ticket inspector, you must be able to show your mobile ticket. Please make sure that your battery is charged when you use this system to buy your travel tickets.

Price

The price of a mobile ticket is the same as for a conventional ticket (currently €2). This amount will be debited directly from your prepaid card or charged to your phone bill. The mobile text sent to access this service costs 25 cents (instead of the normal rate of 12 cents). The confirmation text that you receive is free of charge.

To offset the cost of sending mobile texts, you will receive two free tickets once you have purchased a full virtual booklet of 14 tickets (over a one-year period).

Who can use the SMS-4-Ticket service?

SMS-4-Ticket® is only available to users with a subscription or prepaid card from a Luxembourg telephone operator. 

Can I use the SMS-4-Ticket® service on all buses and trains?

Yes, mobile tickets are valid for all public transport in Luxembourg.

What does a mobile ticket cost?

Will I be notified once I have purchased a full ticket booklet?

No, this information is only saved on the server, which will ensure that your next two tickets are free.

How do I know if a ticket is free of charge?

The ticket price is shown in the text message that you receive.

What do I do if I don't receive my mobile ticket?

If you fail to receive confirmation of your purchase, you must instead buy a conventional ticket.

When I send a text message to 00352 64222, I receive an error message.

That's to be expected! Short numbers like 64222 don't work the same way as long numbers. If you add the country code to short numbers, this confuses the system.

What do you do with my personal data?

By using the service, you are agreeing to having your data automatically recorded and processed, and to having your mobile phone number used to identify you. You are also agreeing to some or all of your data being transferred to the departments responsible for processing your request.
