Construction schedule

Planned duration: 220 working days

Planned completion: Beginning of October 2019

Traffic information

What is the current traffic situation?

For vehicular traffic:

Traffic still runs one way on Rue Jean Baptiste Fresez, and a 3.5-metre wide passage will remain open to vehicles at all times for local residents and the emergency services.

Vehicular access to private properties will be maintained as long as physically possible. However, pedestrian access will be guaranteed throughout the duration of the works.

For businesses and deliveries:

The City will try to ensure access for deliveries to local businesses throughout the duration of the works.

For public transport users:

No changes. Routes will remain unaffected.

As construction progresses, the traffic constrictions will change.

Progress to date

Project update:

Due to bad weather and a slight change in the phasing schedule, and to keep as many parking spaces as possible open, the works will not be completed until early October 2019.

How long will the work take?

Planned completion: Beginning of October 2019

What work has already been completed?

The contractor has completed the work on the dry utility networks and home utility connections on the even-numbered side of the street. They are now carrying out the paving work on the even-numbered side of the street.

What remains to be done?

On the even-numbered side of the street, work is underway to upgrade the pavement, parking zones and roadway, and to install tree planters. After completing the work on the even-numbered side of the street, the contractor will move to the odd-numbered side of the street, where they will start with the work on the dry utility networks and utility connections, and conclude by upgrading the pavement and parking zones and installing tree planters.
