- Situation as at 20/04/2020: Construction projects in Luxembourg City will resume in line with the safety measures announced by the government.
Works in the capital
The measures announced by the government have had a clear impact on various companies and public institutions. As a result, certain construction projects could not begin as scheduled and some work will not be completed on time.
On 20 March 2020, all construction projects were suspended. In line with this announcement, on-site firms were instructed to clear up and secure the work sites and halt all activity until further notice.
From 20 April 2020, construction and civil engineering firms can resume activity in line with the safety measures announced by the government. Given these new circumstances, firms will reorganise themselves and gradually resume work. The City of Luxembourg will shortly provide information about the impact of this unforeseen shutdown of construction work, particularly with regard to completion dates and construction work that has not yet started.
