Residual and organic waste
The City of Luxembourg will continue to collect all curbside waste (i.e. black, brown, green and blue containers, as well as VALORLUX bags) as per the collection calendar.
Recyclable materials such as paper/cardboard, glass, old clothes and used batteries can be placed in the containers at one of the 57 public collection points. Residents and visitors are asked to follow the instructions for these collection points and not to leave any of these materials next to the containers. The Service Hygiène (Sanitation Department) will regularly empty these containers.
Special types of waste
All on-demand collections (bulky waste, garden waste, etc.) are currently suspended.
Residents are asked to store their woody garden waste (bush and hedge cuttings, plants and compost from last season, etc.) on their property. It will be collected by the Service Hygiène (Sanitation Department) when normal activities resume.
Only grass clippings are collected with organic waste, either via the brown container or other containers (no more than 15 kg).
As part of the measures introduced due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the Recycling Centre is closed until further notice.
Since residents are currently unable to access City buildings where they can pick up VALORLUX bags, the company has launched an e-shop. You can order your bags at www.valorlux.lu from Monday, 30 March 2020.
If you have any questions about waste collection during the current situation, please contact the Service Hygiène on 4796-3640 (Monday to Friday, 8:00–16:00) or via email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
