Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg (municipal theatres)

Following the Government's announcement on Tuesday, 5 January 2021, the municipal theatres reopened to the public on Friday, 15 January 2021 in line with the public-health and rules measures currently in force.

  • No mask, no entry
  • Numbered seats will be allocated: in order to maintain a distance of two metres in all directions, individuals/groups will be seated three seats apart, and every second row of seats will be left vacant.
  • Maximum capacity: 100 people

Archives municipales (Municipal Archives)

Following the Government's announcement on Tuesday, 5 January 2021, the Archives municipales reopened to the public on Monday, 11 January 2021 in line with the public-health measures currently in force.

  • Visits and access to the reading room are by appointment only (no more than one visitor at a time).

Cinémathèque

Following the Government's announcement on Tuesday, 5 January 2021, the Cinémathèque reopened to the public on Saturday, 16 January 2021 in line with the public-health measures currently in force.

Opening hours and screenings:

  • Monday–Friday: 1 screening (evening)
  • Saturday and Sunday: 2 screenings (afternoon and evening)

Cité Bibliothèque

Following the Government's announcement on Tuesday, 5 January 2021, the Cité Bibliothèque reopened to the public on Monday, 11 January 2021 in line with the public-health measures currently in force.

  • Open from Tuesday to Friday, 10:00–19:00, and Saturday 10:00–18:00.
  • Visitors can once again access levels -1 and -2 in order to choose the items they want to borrow.
  • Access is limited to 20 people at a time (10 people per level).
  • The workstations for students, computers and the reading section with newspapers and magazines are closed.

Photothèque

Following the Government's announcement on Tuesday, 5 January 2021, the Photothèque reopened to the public on Monday, 11 January 2021 in line with the public-health measures currently in force.

  • Visits by appointment only (no more than two people at a time).

Cercle Cité and CeCiL’s Box

The RatskellerCercle Cité's space for temporary exhibitions – reopened to the public on 13 July 2020. Masks must be worn and access is limited to 20 people at a time.

With its CeCiL’s Box project, Cercle Cité is once again showcasing a variety of original works in one of its windows on Rue du Curé as a way to support local artists.

Conservatoire

At the Conservatoire and the École des quartiers, individual and group classes (except for ensembles) in all areas have resumed in line with the public-health measures currently in force.

Luxembourg City Tourist Office

Swimming pools, learner pools and multi-use sports halls

Following the Government's announcement on Tuesday, 5 January 2021, swimming pools, learner pools and multi-use sports halls reopened to the public on Monday, 11 January 2021 in line with the public-health measures currently in force.

  • The general public can use the swimming pools only. To do so, sessions must be booked in advance.
  • Bookings:
    • To prevent queues from forming, a two-hour session (e.g. 8:00–10:00, 10:00–12:00) must be booked in advance. Anyone who has not made an advance booking will not be allowed entry.
    • Bookings are to be made by telephone:
      Badanstalt Aquatic Relaxation Centre: 4796-2550
      Bonnevoie Pool: 4796-3471
      Belair Pool: 4796-3471
    • Bookings can only be made for the week in question, except for Monday sessions, which can be booked on the Friday before. Only one session can be booked at a time.
    • Bookings can be made for up to four people, including the person making the booking.
  • Public-health measures:
    • The preventive measures that apply in enclosed spaces also apply in the swimming pools. This means that face masks, or other face coverings that cover the mouth and nose, must be worn between the main entrance and the changing rooms.
    • To ensure all public health measures are observed, users must vacate the swimming pool half an hour before the end of their time slot.

    • Facilities such as saunas, steam baths, hot tubs, fitness rooms, shower rooms and baths, as well as communal changing rooms are closed until further notice.
    • Group aquatic activities held indoors are suspended until further notice.
    • Changing rooms and shower facilities will be cleaned and disinfected after each use.

Multi-use sports halls

Reopened on Monday, 11 January 2021 to clubs according to their normal opening hours, provided that the public-health measures currently in force are applied.

"Sports pour tous" classes

  • Outdoor classes resumed on Saturday, 16 January 2021 in line with the public-health measures currently in force.
  • Most indoor classes resumed on Monday, 3 May 2021 subject to strict compliance with existing public health requirements. The following classes, however, remain cancelled until further notice: "Aqua fit" classes held in municipal swimming pools and "Midday workout" classes held at the Badanstalt Aquatic Relaxation Centre.

Hollerich Skatepark and Boy Konen Bike Park

  • Reopened on Monday, 11 January 2021 according to their usual opening hours.
  • Users must adhere to the public-health measures.

Kockelscheuer Ice Rink

  • Reopened on Monday, 11 January 2021 according to its usual opening hours.
  • Please adhere to the public-health measures. Anyone aged 6 and over must wear a mask.
  • Access is limited.

Cultural and community centres

  • Reopened on Monday, 11 January 2021 for associations that normally gather at these premises.
  • Rooms can once again be booked, provided that the public-health measures currently in force are applied during the event.
  • When using the premises, associations are fully responsible for strictly adhering to the applicable social-distancing measures, safety precautions and hygiene practices, including the guidelines published by the Ministry of Health (Ministère de la Santé) and the National Health Directorate (Direction de la Santé). Associations must also provide all the equipment and products needed to adhere to these measures.
