History

Located on the road from Eich to Rollingergrund, Mühlenbach owes its development to the local stream of the same name, which has powered many mills through the ages.

In the 13th century, a flour mill stood on its banks. At the turn of the 18th century, the Jesuits built a paper mill, where the very first Luxembourgish paper was made. In the 19th century, Mühlenbach was home to the many vegetable and flower growers who sold their produce on the city's markets. The little St Fiacre's Church was built between 1962 and 1963.
